DeVault Alumni Center
Located at 1000 East 17th Street in Bloomington, Indiana, the Virgil T. DeVault Alumni Center opened its doors on March 17, 1997. The project architect was Schmidt Associates of Indianapolis in cooperation with the University Architect's Office. An existing structure was renovated to reflect the Gothic architecture of the Old Crescent buildings in the center of campus. Funds for the project in the amount of $5.2 million were contributed in gifts and pledges from alumni and friends of IU.
The opening of the Virgil T. DeVault Alumni Center represents a new era for the alumni association and alumni alike. For the first time since it was established in 1854, the alumni association has a separate, on-campus building designated solely as space for the IU Alumni Association. After years of sharing space in the Indiana Memorial Union and renting space off campus in downtown Bloomington, moving to the Virgil T. DeVault Alumni Center truly feels like coming home.
We invite you to take a personal tour of the center.
