- Indiana University has more than 508,000 living graduates worldwide.
- Over 250,000 IU graduates live in Indiana. More than 50 percent of Indiana's physicians, 40 percent of nurses, 64 percent of optometrists, 35 percent of teachers, 75 percent of lawyers, and 90 percent of dentists are IU graduates.
- According to the 2007 Council of Alumni Association Executives, IU ranks third among U.S. colleges and universities in the total number of living graduates, and its alumni association is the seventh largest with more than 78,000 members.
- More than 9,200 IU graduates live in more than 150 countries, territories, and protectorates outside the United States.
- Gender statistics: IU has 275,618 living female graduates and 232,868 living male graduates.

Facts about the IU Alumni Association
- The IUAA's headquarters are at the Virgil T. DeVault Alumni Center in Bloomington.
- Alumni offices are located on each IU campus and at IUPUC (Columbus).
- During the last fiscal year, IU alumni groups awarded scholarships worth more than $303,000 to IU students. In its history, the IUAA has awarded student scholarships totaling more than $3.8 million.
- The IUAA has more than 100 chapters throughout the world and sponsors more than 50 school, campus, and special-interest alumni groups.
