Homecoming 2008

Homecoming 2008

IU vs. Northwestern

Window Painting/Banner Contest

There are two options to participate:

First option is window painting. Take advantage of a chance to participate in “legalized” graffiti and decorate a local store window your way! Not only does this event show Homecoming spirit, but it also decorates the community and helps the whole town celebrate. This Homecoming tradition takes place every year thanks to the many local businesses that donate their view! We will supply window locations for all student organizations that do not have their own location to promote Homecoming.

OR

Second option is the banner contest. This option is available to student organizations that have access to their own location to hang their banner. This is your chance to show just how creative your group or student organization can be! Any group is eligible to participate by hanging its banner in a visible location.

To Apply

Check "Window Painting" on the "Hoosier Field of Dreams" application.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Entries should include this year’s Homecoming theme: "Hoosier Field of Dreams."
  2. A creative variation of the theme centered around or relating to IU pride, spirit, Hoosiers vs. Wildcats, "Hoosier Field of Dreams," etc.

Window

  1. Only tempera or water-based paint.
  2. Painting on the outside of windows only.
  3. Clean-up will be required by the Monday following Homecoming, there is a $100 fine for failure to clean up the window.
  4. Groups will be assigned a window by the Homecoming committee; please do not attempt to secure a window on your own.

Banner

  1. Only oil-based paint may be used on the banners due to the possibility of rain, which will cause water-based paint to run.
