Chapter Achievement Program
Financial Support
The IU Alumni Association, through the Chapter Achievement Program,
recognizes and financially supports alumni chapters according to the
three different Achievement Levels:
Spirit, Tradition,
and Legacy.
NOTE:
The chapter funding formulas for all achievement levels will go into
effect beginning with the first allocation of the 2008-09 fiscal year.
Chapter funding for 2007-08 will follow the current IUAA chapter funding formula.
IU Spirit Level
Chapters participating at this level complete the annual requirements plus a minimum of four additional programs selected from four of the eight Keystones of Excellence. One of these programs must come from the Membership Keystone of Excellence.
Chapters meeting this achievement level will annually receive a base allocation of $500 to $1,000, plus a per-paid-member allocation based on the number of IUAA members in the chapter area. The following formula will be used to calculate chapter allocations:
- $500 base allocation + $2.25/paid member (1 – 500 IUAA members in the chapter)
- $750 base allocation + $1.75/paid member (501 – 1,000 IUAA members in the chapter)
- $1,000 base allocation + $1.25/paid member (1,001+ IUAA members in the chapter)
Chapters meeting this achievement level will receive their annual financial allocations the following fiscal year (after a review by IUAA staff of chapter activities and events taking place during the previous fiscal year).
In accordance with the 2004 Alumni Clubs Task Force study recommendations, IUAA is considering a recommendation that all chapters, regardless of their respective achievement levels, have access to a special $25,000 IUAA grant pool during the 2008-09 fiscal year. The grant pool would be available during the fiscal year or until all funds were completely utilized.
Chapters would be allowed to make grant proposals to the IUAA grant fund for additional financial support for special or new chapter events, activities, and programs. Grants would be awarded on a case-by-case basis. Chapters may submit as many grant proposals as they wish. However, the total amount of all grants awarded to a chapter, in a given fiscal year, could not exceed $3,000.
NOTE:
During the 2007-08 fiscal year, IUAA will make available a $10,000 grant
pool to which chapters can make proposals for additional funding for new and
innovative chapter activities, events, and programs. Grants will be awarded
on a case-by-case basis. Chapters may submit as many grant proposals as
they wish. However, the total amount of all grants awarded to a chapter
during the 2007-08 fiscal year cannot exceed $1,500.
IU Tradition Level
Chapters participating at this level complete the annual requirements plus a minimum of eight additional programs selected from each of the eight Keystones of Excellence.
Chapters meeting this achievement level will annually receive a base allocation of $500 to $1,000, plus a per-paid-member allocation based on the number of IUAA members in the chapter area. The following formula will be used to calculate chapter allocations:
- $500 base allocation + $2.50/paid member (1 – 500 IUAA members in the chapter)
- $750 base allocation + $2/paid member (501 – 1,000 IUAA members in the chapter)
- $1,000 base allocation + $1.50/paid member (1,001+ IUAA members in the chapter)
Chapters meeting this achievement level will receive their annual financial allocations the following fiscal year (after a review by IUAA staff of chapter activities and events taking place during the previous fiscal year).
