Chapter Achievement Program
Keystones of Excellence
Lifelong Learning — Expand Personal and Professional Growth
A recent survey of IU alumni concluded that a significant number of graduates are interested in continuing education programs, professional development, or simply health and wellness opportunities which enrich their overall lives, family, and careers. These activities can take many forms. Programming ideas in this Keystone of Excellence include:
- Chapter event featuring an IU faculty member or graduate discussing his or her area of expertise, business, or research.
- Chapter event featuring an IU faculty member or graduate discussing a book he or she authored.
- Chapter event featuring an IU faculty speaker broadcast live, via PolyCom Web-based feed, to the chapter area.
- Chapter-co-sponsored event with a local service club (i.e. Rotary or Kiwanis) featuring a faculty speaker or IU administrator.
- Chapter-co-sponsored event with an IU school, department, regional campus, or IUPUI (i.e. Kelley School of Business, School of Medicine, School of Continuing Studies, etc.), featuring a faculty member, prominent local alumni speaker, or current student leader.
- Professional development program co-hosted with the Kelley School of Business Alumni Chapter in your area, Career Development Center, regional campus, local college campus, or business.
- Chapter volunteers attend Chapter Leaders Training (i.e. Alumni Chapter Leaders Conference or regional training session facilitated by chapter staff or volunteers).
- Promote IU’s Mini University among chapter membership via communications (e-mails, Web site, etc.).
- Chapter-sponsored or co-sponsored health and wellness programs for chapter members. Potential partners in these programs might include local hospitals, medical or pharmaceutical companies, HPER, Schools of Physical Education, Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, etc.)
