Chapter Achievement Program
Annual Requirements
For all levels of achievement, the following ANNUAL REQUIREMENTS must be completed by every chapter:
- Submit chapter ANNUAL ACTIVITIES REPORT detailing all of the chapter’s activities and service during the past fiscal year. Chapters can submit the report utilizing Chapters Online.
- Submit fully-completed FINANCIAL REPORTS (twice during each fiscal year) detailing all of the chapter’s financial transactions. The fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30.
- Utilize IUAA-allocated CHAPTER FUNDS for events only. Funds for chapter scholarships must be raised through alternate sources like event fees, fundraisers, and sponsorships. Also, CHAPTER FINANCIAL BALANCES should not exceed three times the annual IUAA allocation given to the chapter. Chapters should use the funds provided each year to sponsor chapter events and activities. Chapters should not bank-roll the allocations from year to year.
- Each chapter must have a minimum of at least two OFFICERS, and must submit a ROSTER OF CHAPTER OFFICERS and BOARD MEMBERS each year. All chapter officers and board members must be current members of the IU Alumni Association. Chapters are encouraged to begin and end OFFICER TERMS July 1 so that they coincide with the starting date of the fiscal year (July 1 - June 30).
- Chapters should also host a minimum of two to four BOARD MEETINGS per year.
- Sponsor a minimum of four CHAPTER EVENTS per year where either all chapter members or all alumni in the chapter area are invited. Prepare an ANNUAL CALENDAR OF EVENTS prior to the new fiscal year with specific or tentative dates for upcoming chapter activities and programs. Chapters are encouraged to consider new activities every year.
- Create and/or maintain a COMMUNICATIONS program for the chapter which includes an up-to-date Web site (with current chapter events, activities, and information), at least one postal mailing per year, and, when appropriate, mass e-mails regarding chapter events and news. Also, all chapter communications are strongly encouraged to carry a general IUAA membership tag line or message.
- Promote IUAA MEMBERSHIP in all chapter-related activities, events, and communications. Work closely with IUAA staff, including the IUAA Membership Department, to develop annual membership promotions and initiatives.
