Chapter Achievement Program
Keystones of Excellence
Scholarship — Provide for the Next IU Generation
Providing scholarships to local IU students is a great way for alumni chapters to give back to their respective communities and ensure the continued academic excellence of Indiana University. Many chapters award scholarships and other student honors each year. Programming ideas in this Keystone of Excellence include:
- Award an existing chapter scholarship to IU student(s) from the chapter area.
- If one does not exist, establish a chapter scholarship for IU students from the chapter area.
- With the assistance of the IUAA, create an official chapter scholarship fund or account through the IU Foundation.
- Promote different IU and IUAA scholarship opportunities to students from the chapter area (include this information on the chapter Web site, guidance offices at local high schools, other communications, etc.).
- Develop corporate partners or sponsors to assist with the funding of a chapter scholarship (utilizing IUAA guidelines for corporate sponsorship).
- Donate to the Claude Rich Open Scholarship Fund by designating the chapter as a Claude Rich Open Patron.
- Donate to the Jerry Foster Memorial Scholarship Fund.
- Nominate qualified students from the chapter area for the Jerry Foster Memorial Scholarship or other IU- and IUAA-sponsored scholarships.
- Create special chapter scholarship opportunities for students from the chapter area who are involved as leaders and/or volunteers of the Student Alumni Association.
