Where is Your Usual Hangout for IU Basketball? Even though IU Football season is underway, IU Basketball will be here before we know it! Many alumni chapters annually sponsor game watching parties where alumni and fans can enjoy the games together. If your chapter sponsors TV game watch parties or has a specific place ("The Usual Hangout") where IU fans can gather to watch IU Basketball games, please let the IU Alumni Association know about it soon! We post game watches and game watch locations on our
website each year, and we are in the process of updating our list. To update your chapter's game watch location, contact Tom Sparrenberger, tsparren@indiana.edu

Give Blood in the 9th Annual IU/Purdue Blood Donor Challenge The IU Alumni Association has joined forces again with the Purdue Alumni Association in this friendly competition to benefit area blood donation centers around the state. The dates for this year's IU/Purdue Blood Donor Challenge will be October 3 through November 11. The competition is co-sponsored by the IUAA, PAA, and the Indiana Blood Center, in conjunction with the American Red Cross and the South Bend Medical Foundation. Alumni

Wayne, South Bend, Anderson, Columbus, Kokomo, Terre Haute, Shelbyville, Goshen, Jasper, and Merrillville. Donation centers are located in all of the above cities, or mobile units can be arranged by alumni chapter leaders wanting to sponsor blood drives in neighboring communities. Membership Matters! Alumni chapters play an important role in promoting IU Alumni Association membership - from special member pricing at chapter events to simply reminding friends and fellow chapter leaders to renew their IUAA memberships. Remember, your chapter's annual due allocation is based on the number of IUAA members in your area. The more members you have, the more programming funds you receive, which can lead to more events and activities for your chapter.
For membership information, stats, resources, and tips for growing your membership base, be sure to read "Membership Matters", the monthly membership e-mail report. To help you use these reports as a continual source for membership ideas, we've archived each edition online. Be sure to bookmark this page for easy reference. |
