Alumni Chapters Gather for IUB Homecoming Nice autumn weather, excellent events, a big IU football win, and thousands of excited alumni, students, and friends helped Bloomington come alive for Homecoming 2005! Several alumni chapters sponsored group trips to Bloomington for this year's Homecoming activities. In fact, some chapters from different areas of the state partnered together to co-sponsor buses to Homecoming. The Northwest Indiana Chapter departed Merrillville,
and along the way, made a scheduled stop in Lafayette to pick-up members of the West Central Indiana Chapter. It was a great way for both chapters to sponsor a Homecoming bus trip for their members, and share in the costs. |

Chapter Financial Reports Due in November! Don't forget! It is the responsibility of each chapter treasurer to submit financial reports twice each year to the IUAA. These reports detail how chapter funds are being used, and are required of all chapters. Please remember, chapters who fail to submit financial reports on-time risk losing their status as an active IUAA chapter and subsequent dues allocations. The first financial report of the current fiscal year
(Mid-Year Report) is due November 30, 2005. This report covers activities taking place between May 1 and October 31. Mid-year report forms and instructions were sent to all chapter treasurers in October. A copy of the reporting form is available online. For more information, visit the Guidelines for Alumni Chapter Treasurers or contact Mark Skirvin at Mskirvin@indiana.edu or 800-824-3044. |

Chapters: Help IUAA Promote New IUAlumniCareers.com The IU Alumni Association has partnered with the IUB Career Development Center to provide online career and mentoring services for IU alumni from all campuses. The IUAA career services center web site, IUAlumniCareers.com, scheduled to launch in January 2006, will provide a secure, self-registering online environment for job/mentor seekers and employers. The IUAA hopes IUAlumniCareers.com will become a major resource for IU alumni seeking career assistance, as well as employers wishing to recruit IU alumni. Again, IUAlumniCareers.com will provide the following services:
• Job and Mentor Seekers (open to IUAA members only) • Employer Job Postings • Alumni-to-Alumni Mentoring
Alumni mentors and employers can begin registering NOW @ IUAlumniCareers.com. Mentors can register to give career advice to fellow alumni, and employers can register to post company job openings. Chapter leaders, please help us spread the word to alumni in your area about this valuable new service! For more information, contact Joan Hall, Director of Membership, at jchall@indiana.edu |

Chapters: Help IU Win Blood Donor Challenge The battle for blood is on! The 9th Annual IU vs. Purdue Blood Donor Challenge is underway (October 3 through November 11) in Indiana, and your in-state chapter can help IU win this friendly competition! In addition to simply donating blood, many chapters are scheduling a specific date or mobile location
where IU alumni are specifically encouraged to donate blood in their respective chapter areas. Some chapters, like the Southwest Indiana Chapter, have even challenged the local Purdue alumni chapter in their area to participate in a local one-day challenge. All IU donations are counted in the overall IU/PU Blood Donor Challenge. The university with the most blood donations will be honored at the Old Oaken Bucket football game at IU on November 19. For donation locations and an updated score, please visit IU/Purdue Blood Donor
Challenge. |

Chapters: Think About Purchasing Finals Survival Kits Once again, alumni chapters have the opportunity to purchase Finals Survival Kits for IUB students from a particular chapter area. In the past, many chapters have purchased kits for their current scholarship recipients, students who attend their annual student send-off, or other IU Bloomington students from their respective chapter areas.
The IUB Student Alumni Association is offering finals survival kits - buckets full of
snacks and treats - to help IUB students with those all-night study sessions and finals. Again, this is a great opportunity for chapters to build a relationship with area students, and keep the chapter's name and activities in the minds of current students and future alumni chapter volunteers!
More information about the Survival Kits is available on the web.To place orders for multiple kits, contact your Director of Alumni Chapters at 800-824-3044. |
