Alumni Chapter Leaders Annual Conference, June 16-17
Save the Date! On June 16-17, the IU Alumni Association is again hosting its annual Chapter Leaders Conference in Bloomington. This conference provides alumni chapter leaders an opportunity to learn more about new alumni chapter activities and programs, and to meet and network with fellow chapter leaders and university staff. Take advantage of this chance to gain a fresh perspective on how to effectively manage and develop an alumni chapter. Be sure to represent your alumni chapter at this year's Alumni Chapter Leaders Conference on June 16-17! Look for more details on the IUAA website in the near future. Registration materials will be mailed to you in the coming months.
Announcing ChaptersOnline!
Check-out ChaptersOnline, a new request center that allows alumni chapter volunteers to easily request a variety of communication types. If your chapter needs to send a blast e-mail, make an update to your chapter's website, or send us copy for a chapter postal mailing, simply visit ChaptersOnline and submit your requests. Be sure to bookmark this site for future reference. To access the system, click on ChaptersOnline. You will be asked to authenticate your IU alumni information the first time you access the system. You can authenticate your information by visiting the IU Alumni Online Directory. Once you have a user name and password from the Alumni Directory, enter them in the appropriate boxes and login. It's that simple!
For each type of request, there is a corresponding tab that you click on to make your request.
1. Print Center is the option to select for newsletters, flyers, or other mailings.
2. Web Center is for use in updating your chapter web site.
3. E-mail Center is for sending e-newsletters or announcements to your chapter.
Again, we are pleased to offer this new system to alumni chapter volunteers and feel it will help all of us effectively manage IU alumni chapter communications! We look forward to your future use of the system, and hope you will share feedback with us as you begin utilizing it.

Is Your Chapter Awarding Scholarships in 2006-07?
As scholarship applications are filled out by students, it is important for chapter volunteers to remember the significance of these programs, and to begin selecting recipients now for next fall. Chapter scholarships are a great way for chapters to support local students attending IU, and help bring the brightest students to all of our campuses. We strongly encourage chapter volunteers to review applications and determine recipients between March 1 and May 1 of this year. This will allow IUAA to process the awards for each chapter and ensure that students receive their scholarships prior to the start of the fall semester. Don't delay; start working on your chapter's 2006-07 scholarship today! Once recipients have been chosen, please contact Susan Daut at sdaut@indiana.edu, (812) 855-4958, or (800) 824-3044 to submit the following scholarship recipient form.
Do any of your chapter's current officers or board members have children who are enrolled as full-time undergraduates at any IU campus? Encourage the students to apply for the Jerry Foster Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement and financial need as determined by the Office of Student Information and Fiscal Services.
Deadline for application is April 1.
The Easy Life Just Became Easier!
 The Easy Life no-interest 10-month payment plan was launched in June 2004 and has been an easy and affordable way for alumni to become Life members of IUAA. Beginning January 2006, new life members signing up for the Easy Life plan have the option to have their credit card automatically charged every month. There are now three ways for newly enrolled life members to make their Easy Life payments:
1. Automatically charge credit card monthly
2. Send monthly invoices
3. Payroll deduction (IU employees only)

When is Your Chapter's 2006 Student Send-Off?
It's not too early to schedule your chapter's student send-off party for students coming to IU in the fall. This is a great opportunity for your chapter to connect with future IU students and their parents before the students head off to good old IU! Please let IUAA know the date of your chapter's student send-off as soon as possible. Simply contact Felisa Javier at (812) 855-3975, (800) 824-3044, or fjavier@indiana.edu with your send-off date, time, and location. Chapter leaders can also complete the 2006 Student Send-Off Form and send it to IUAA.
March Madness is
Coming!?
The Road to the Final Four is in full swing for our IU teams! Although we don't know where the teams will be heading in this year's NCAA tournament, we do know that most of the games will be happening in an area close to an IU alumni chapter. If this is the case, the local chapter will be asked to assist IUAA in hosting a pre-game party before the games. For a complete listing of where the teams may be playing in March, please refer to this web site for men's games or this web site for women's games. The Hoosiers will also play in the Men's and Women's Big Ten Tournaments, held in Indianapolis, at Conseco Fieldhouse, March 2-6 (Women) and March 9-12 (Men). Be sure to join fellow Hoosier fans at pep rallies before each game. Look for upcoming details about all future post-season Big Red Warm Ups on the IUAA website.
Hoosiers for Higher Education Statehouse Visit, February 21
 Don't miss the annual Hoosiers for Higher Education Statehouse Visit and Reception on Tuesday, February 21. Join us in the Rotunda of the Indiana Statehouse for a legislative briefing including comments by special guest IU Football Coach Terry Hoeppner.
