Mark Skirvin named senior director of alumni chapters

March 21, 2005

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Mark Skirvin has been named senior director of alumni chapters for the Indiana University Alumni Association, effective March 1, 2005. The senior director of alumni chapters is a new position in the organization.

Mark Skirvin “This new position will provide us with an opportunity to enhance staff service and IU Alumni Association programs and services to our chapters,” said Ken Beckley, IUAA president and CEO. “The chapter liaisons on our staff previously reported to senior vice president John Hobson, who oversees many operations within the association. The senior director will be able to concentrate all of his attention on the entire chapters network.”

“Mark’s experience with the Alumni Association and his extraordinarily good work in serving chapters made him the perfect choice for this position.”

Since September 2000, Skirvin has served as director of alumni chapters, working with IUAA chapters in Indiana and several other states. Prior to joining the IUAA staff in Bloomington, he was assistant director of alumni relations at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. Skirvin is a native of Bloomington and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Indiana University Bloomington.

The Indiana University Alumni Association serves the university and its more than 460,000 living graduates through programs, services, and communications. One of the nation’s largest alumni organizations, the IUAA strives daily to connect alumni and serve IU. For more information, visit www.alumni.indiana.edu or call (800) 824-3044.
