SAA, IUAA salute graduating seniors
April 17, 2006
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana University’s class of 2006 is invited to the annual Senior Salute on Thursday, April 27, from 4-6 p.m. in the tent behind the DeVault Alumni Center (1000 E. 17th St., across from Assembly Hall). Hosted by the IU Student Alumni Association and the IU Alumni Association, Senior Salute is a party to congratulate the senior class and introduce them to the multiple ways to stay connected to IU long after graduation.
This year's event will feature free food and beverages and live music by Dave and Rae. Door prizes will include a life membership in IUAA, an official IU Ring, a diploma frame, and an iPod nano. The first 1,000 seniors in attendance will receive a free IU license plate frame. Seniors must present their student ID cards in order to receive prizes.
Major sponsors of Senior Salute include the IU Foundation, IU Varsity Club, Indiana Memorial Union, Chipotle, and Marco’s Pizza.
Immediately preceding Senior Salute at 3:30 p.m., seniors are invited to the back lawn of the DeVault Alumni Center for the Senior Tree Dedication Ceremony, presided over by Richard McKaig, Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs, Bloomington and Kirk Walda, SAA President.
One of the largest and most active student organizations at IUB, the Student Alumni Association sponsors student leadership initiatives and events such as Homecoming, Networking Night, the senior class tree dedication, LeaderShape IU, and business-etiquette programs. It works to promote the interests of and understanding between the students of the past, present, and future at Indiana University through the programs and services offered by the organization and in joint efforts with its sponsor, the Indiana University Alumni Association.
As one of the nation's largest alumni organizations, serving more than 481,000 graduates worldwide, the IUAA is also a connection between alumni and the university. The association is a dues membership organization but provides many programs and services to the general university community. For information, visit www.alumni.indiana.edu or call (800) 824-3044.
