IU Law Alumni Reunion Weekend

Class Gift

An important part of any reunion weekend is taking the time to reminisce and think about what you gained from your experience at the IU School of Law – Indianapolis. We hope that each class takes this reunion weekend as an opportunity to give back to the school and help today’s students reap the rewards of being a graduate from the IU School of Law-Indianapolis.

Class gifts are more important than ever due to a steady decrease in state funding over the years. Tuition and state support no longer cover the cost of legal education, making private gifts from alumni necessary to provide quality legal education. Class gifts provide an opportunity for class members to join together in supporting the school. While there is no requirement for a class member to give in order to attend the reunion weekend, it is a great way to commemorate your law school experience.

Each reunion class will work with a development officer from the law school to determine the various needs of the school and possible naming opportunities for their gift. The staff member will provide direction and assistance in the preparation of materials and in the solicitation of classmates who may be interested in contributing to the gift. We encourage class members to participate in this effort, but you are not required to do so in order to be on the class reunion committee.

The opportunity to announce class gifts during alumni weekend will be available. It is our hope that the reunion weekend will develop into a successful weekend not only in terms of reunion events but also in the growth of support for the school and its students.
